Explore the beautiful Aorere Valley on mountain bikes, stopping off at the historic Langfords store for a tea and scones and a swim at Salisbury Falls along the way. Take your kayak for a local paddle around the Aorere Estuary or explore Wanganui Inlet’s tidal arms and channels.   Other local activities include horse treks over Old Man’s Range (known as the best scenic ride in NZ), catch and release saltwater fly fishing for Kingfish in the shallow golden bay waters north of Collingwood, or follow an arts trail for an enjoyable tour of vibrant and varied arts studios around the bay.
